What NO ONE Told Me About Having an Online Boutique and How It Changed My Life
Share
🌺Hola chicas!
As some of you may already know, I celebrated the first anniversary of Amarylis VIP Boutique this past July.
That’s why this blog post is a little different. I’ve been reflecting on everything I’ve experienced over this year and was able to identify several things I’ve learned along the way. I always knew it would be a challenge, because every entrepreneurial journey requires effort, sacrifices, and a lot of dedication—especially when my goal is so specific: to create an online boutique with high-quality pieces, different from the usual, for women who prefer modest fashion without sacrificing comfort or femininity.
I never imagined that this entire process would fill me with so much passion: I’ve discovered that every task in running my online business—receiving new merchandise, updating inventory, preparing orders, answering messages on social media and email, monitoring trends, and making sure everything runs smoothly for my clients—excites me, and I truly enjoy it to the fullest.
Today I want to share with you five lessons that no one told me before starting this journey, but that I’m living day by day. These experiences are impacting me directly, and they might also inspire or help you if you’re exploring your project or following your passions.
1. Trusting my intuition
When choosing the pieces for the boutique, I’ve discovered that it’s not all about following trends. Many times, the best-selling items are the ones I choose simply because I fall in love with them at first sight. Trusting my intuition is teaching me that my style and vision have unique value, and that you don’t always have to follow what the market dictates to connect with the right clients.
2. Realizing that being organized is not enough
I’ve always been super organized and great at managing my time, but with a boutique I’m learning that it’s not just about organizing, taking photos, and uploading them to the website. There are countless ongoing tasks: preparing orders, updating inventory, managing finances, creating social media content, keeping the website in top shape, replying to client messages on social media or email, modeling, managing stock, and more. In my case, I upload new merchandise every week. All of this is teaching me that organization is important, but flexibility and the ability to adapt to the unexpected are just as essential.
3. Connecting with my clients’ stories
I’m realizing that I’m not just selling clothes and accessories. I’m selling moments, emotions, and memories. Many clients write to tell me they’re buying a piece for a work party, a birthday, a graduation, or even a trip they’ve been planning for a long time. Knowing that my pieces are part of these special chapters in their lives makes me feel that what I’m doing has a much bigger purpose than just an online transaction. I can’t even express the joy I feel in being part of those important moments.
4. Appreciating every detail of the journey
I’m learning to pause and acknowledge every small win: an unexpected order, a sweet message from a client, a positive comment on social media. All of this is showing me that gratitude is not just a feeling—it’s a way of living that’s giving me energy to keep growing and enjoying every step of this boutique journey.
5. Learning to value human connection
I’m discovering that, even though my boutique is online, the relationships with my clients are what truly make it special. I miss in-person contact, but at the same time, I deeply enjoy every message they send me—their feedback, their questions, their stories about choosing a piece. These interactions are teaching me that human connection is priceless, and that even through a screen you can create a close and meaningful relationship. So please, always feel free to write to me, because I truly value every message, every review, and every story you share with me.
This first year with Amarylis VIP Boutique has been a journey full of lessons and emotions. I hope these lessons inspire you to trust your intuition, enjoy the little wins, and cherish every detail of your own path. Thank you for joining me and for being part of this community that gives my passion meaning.
